Amazed by God’s Creation

Summer is a relaxing time to stand in awe or sit in amazement at the majesty of God’s Creation.  Yes, I did say God’s creation, not some kind of cosmic accident.  Have you ever wondered how folks can miss the creator while living as one his creations?  It is a perplexing mystery to me as a person of faith.  But even more perplexingly wonderful is the good news that of all that God made in the seemingly infinite domain of the universe, he chose to love us more than all that he created.  He even fashioned us in his own image and gave us dominion to care for his big playground.  But, even more astonishing is the fact that he climbed into his creation to show us, tell us and embrace us with his love.  Remarkable beyond words, yet many still claim he does not exist or care for us.  But to those who believe he exists and saves us, the cross and resurrection reminds us of the imprint of his love expressed in Jesus Christ.  In a few hours (maybe more), I am venturing out to lake country and I have a chair with my name on it - on the back deck looking out to a quiet lake – a perfect place to sit -- in amazement at the majesty of God’s Creation. Yes, I did say God’s Creation. For I do believe in the Word of God expressed in the very first verse of the Bible:  “In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth.”  Gen. 1:1

May your summer days allow you time to ponder with amazement the glory of God’s creation and may it cause you (one of his beloved creatures) to give him praise!
