Sunday School and Youth Education are just around the corner. Round Up Sunday is September 12th with the first day of Sunday School on September 19th. If you love spending time with our wonderful children as much as we do please consider volunteering your time and talent to our Education program. Teaching positions as well as many other fun-filled opportunities are available. Please contact a member of the Education team for more information. Please complete the registration form as soon as possible - we will likely be blessed with near capacity classrooms and would like to get room and teacher assignments completed. Reminder to parents of students entering 3rd grade - The Education Team will present your child with a gift of their own Bible during an October service. Please list on the registration form how they would like their name embossed on the cover. For students that may not have their own bible or need one replaced please contact Rita Greenlund 281-0114 or Carrie Binde 277-3018. We will let you know the cost of the Bible and embossing. Just like our everyday school teachers we also need Sunday School supplies so here is our wish list. If you are able to contribute any of these items we would greatly appreciate it: Scissors - prefer the smaller student size Elmers Glue - prefer the smaller bottles so they don't dry out and are easier for kids to handle Markers - prefer washable Tissues, Hand Sanitizer, Wet Wipes Construction paper - any colors Fun Foam Sheets - any colors Tempra Paint - any colors Water Colors and extra brushes Scotch Tape or tape dispensers Sticky Tack Misc Craft Items Shoe box sized covered plastic totes (see-through) for the craft supply closet We would like to equip each class room with a teacher box - so covered totes approximately 12" x 18" would work perfectly. Sunday School Teacher Orientation/Meeting will be held on Thursday, September 2nd at 7:00 p.m. in the Education wing. Teacher Installation will be held on Sunday, September 12th. Education is looking for a member to join our team that is interested in taking on the area of Adult Education - we have primarily focused on youth education and would like to have sometime dedicated to this important ministry in the church. If you are interested please contact a board member. Next Education Team meeting is Thursday, August 16th at 7:00 p.m. Horce Lutheran does not charge a registration fee for Sunday School or Confirmation. You can support these ministries through prayer, volunteering your time, fund raising, and donations. Watch the monthly newsletter and Sunday bulletin for information about these classes. A Schedule of events and activities with dates and times will be posted in the Education wing. Sunday classes begin September 19th. Classes start at 9:30am and end at 10:20am. Small children must be dropped off and picked up at their classrooms. Children are encouraged to invite friends and neighbors at any time. 7th and 8th grade Confirmation begins September 15th. 6:00pm WOW dinner, 6:45 Worship, 7:00 Confirmation.
